Teatree & Rosemary Scalp Cream (TTR) – Mild Scalp conditions

Description

This scalp cream is for home treatment of Mild cases of Pityriasis Capitis, Pityriasis Steatoides, seborrhoeic  Dermatitis and other mild scalp conditions.

This scalp cream is a blend of highly effective anti-scaling agents, Piroctone Olamine, Tea Tree Oil, Rosemary Oil and Salicylic acid.  It is also rich in glycerine and olive oil to moisturise the hair and scalp tissues.

Piroctone Olamine is a highly effective antimicrobial and antioxidant. and as an antifungal that controls the root cause of dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis, which is an overproduction of Malassezia Globose, a natural yeast that is found on the scalp that can be overactive causing scalp conditions.  PO is also substantive to the hair giving a thickening affect to the hair, as well as reducing hair shedding due to the scalp imbalance caused by the Malassezia. It is particularly good at controlling the level of Malassezia globose, the causative yeast in such disorders as Pityriasis and Seborrheic Dermatitis.

Salicylic Acid occurs naturally in the bark of the willow tree, Salix alba. It is used in some skin creams at very low levels as an exfoliant, and at higher levels as a keratolytic treatment for several skin disorders such as seborrheic dermatitis and Psoriasis. Salicylic acid is gentle yet effective in the treatment of Psoriasis helping to soften and lift psoriatic plaques with no bleeding or soreness.

Tea tree oil is well known for its antimicrobial effectiveness. Indeed, during the first world war before the discovery of Penicillin and other antibiotics, the Australian army give their soldiers bottles of tea tree oil to reduce the risk of infection if wounded. This oil is still, today, very well regarded for its general antiseptic and specific antifungal and antibacterial properties. A super effective anti-microbial it helps to remove product build up and dead skin cells from the hair and scalp.

Rosemary Oil is another natural antimicrobial, not quite on the level as Tea Tree, but nonetheless effective for controlling fungus and bacterial on the skin by Soothing and Stimulating at the same time. When used in conjunction with tea tree, as we do in our TTR cream and Strong Juniper, there is a synergistic effect, enhancing the overall antimicrobial effectiveness of the combined oils. Rosemary oil will soothe inflamed irritated scalps and will help in reducing symptoms such as itching.  This oil also stimulates blood flow into the hair follicle, which will stimulate the follicle into hair growth.
